Burkina Faso: 14 Christians killed on Sunday in a church in area that has suffered a string of Islamist assaults

December 2, 2019

Persecution of Christians in Burkina Faso: as the targeting of Christians escalates in Central and West Africa, the central governments of the nations involved, including Burkina Faso itself, are either too weak, too indifferent, or both to do anything serious to stop it. If this situation continues, Christianity will be eradicated from Central Africa. The persecution of Christians in Africa cries out urgently for international intervention.

Please continue to pray for the Christians of Burkina Faso, that their hearts would be steadfast, and for those who persecute them, that their hearts would be transformed.

Fourteen people were killed in an attack Sunday on a church in eastern Burkina Faso where places of worship have suffered a string of Islamist assaults this year, the regional government said.

“This attack unfortunately left 14 dead and many wounded,” it said.

Soldiers in the region were hunting down the assailants, who fled on scooters, a security source said earlier.

The poor West African country has suffered a series of attacks on Christian targets since February, leaving 21 dead before Sunday’s attack.
